School Reading Program

Reading in Schools

Today, millions of school-aged children around the world do not have access to textbooks. According to UNESCO, an astonishing 617 million children and adolescents worldwide are not reaching minimum proficiency levels in reading. A lack of books prevents literacy acquisition and learning, blocking students from reaching their full potential.

How we work

The School Reading program delivers e-readers loaded with relevant and informative digital books, teacher support and community engagement activities to improve the educational outcomes of students and encourage reading both inside and outside of school.

Key Projects
