Direct Notice to Parents and Legal Guardians

Dear Parents and Legal Guardians,
In order for Worldreader to provide the most effective services and avenues of communication with you and your child, Worldreader would like to obtain your consent to collect personal information about and from your child in compliance with Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act, otherwise known as “COPPA.”

Personal Information

Worldreader does not collect personal data of a child we know to be under 13 without the consent, and active participation, of a parent or legal guardian. If you are using our BookSmart Applications, we may collect information include:

  1. How many children you read to;
  2. Your relationship to them;
  3. The age of the children you read to; and
  4. Whether you are reading to boys or girls.

Use and sharing of personal data

We use the personal information to provide you with the services you request and may share personal data with third parties as permitted by law and as described in our Privacy Notice.

Your Choices

You may create or change your privacy preferences by editing your profile settings. You may request removal from our database by emailing us at privacy@worldreader.org, or submit a request through the Worldreader Website.
By agreeing to our Privacy Policy and Terms and Conditions, or granting your consent to a Worldreader partner through whom you obtain access to our services, you consent to our collection of your child’s information so that we can deliver the Worldreader services.
