Let’s Get Children Reading

A Worldreader community grant opportunity to get children reading.

You can get children
and their families reading

We have an ambitious goal of getting 75,000 children ages 3-12 reading through this grant to improve reading comprehension and social-emotional learning. To reach this goal, we seek creative, collaborative partner organizations with these qualities:

  • Direct access to children and families through positive and empowering services or programming
  • Capacity to actively promote the importance of reading and the use of BookSmart as a tool to caregivers/families for consistent family reading
  • Commitment to building the reading confidence of caregivers and families to support their child’s literacy development
  • Interest in using data to adapt outreach and engagement methods to help families develop reading habits
  • Willingness to approach the partnership with a spirit of collaboration by working together to problem solve and providing regular feedback on the program

We welcome applications from across the United States, but are placing a high priority on organizations in the following states: California, Georgia, Illinois, Ohio, Oregon, Washington DC, Washington State, and West Virginia.
